Rine's style uses two layers. The first layer is the portrait, the
appearance of the person. Over this surface, she adds a layer of small iconic
shapes for additional interpretation. These shapes can reflect the subject’s
interests, their thoughts, or a compelling characteristic. Rine uses these iconic
shapes in all of her work give depth to the subject's personality.
Rine has been living and working in Chicago since 2004. Recognition
of her work includes an honorable mention at the Rockford Midwestern
juried exhibition held at the Rockford Art Museum and reviews in Newcity,
Gaper’s Block and SOBS.org.
